O'Briens

O'Briens
A twelve year journey including a very long ortho surgery residency, first year as staff, a move to Fort Irwin AKA The Moon, a move back to DC, and now finally settling for a while in the Augusta, Georgia area-this blog tells a story of a boy and a girl leaving NYC, both switching careers, joining the Army, starting our family, loving, losing, living... Buckle up, this life of ours is bumpy, but full of love and lots of adventure.

Our Little Artist!

We got Liam a new art table and I must say, it is a hit! Thanks to Grandpa R for putting it together for us. Liam loves painting and first his technique involves using the brushes, but quickly he evolves into using several tools at once--the brushes AND his hand. It is so much fun to see his creative juices flowing.

Liam,
I am so excited for you to have your very own art table where you can paint to your heart's content! You seem to be enjoying this a lot, and I really like the painting you are doing in these pictures. Tomorrow we are flying to France, to see your new cousin Andy (Anatole), Suzanne, Aunt Delphine and Uncle Mark. We are excited and really looking forward to meeting this newest little O'Brien. Maybe you might paint him a picture for his room !!!
Anyway, continue to grow as well as you already are, create, learn, and know that you are deeply loved and cherished by your whole family.
lots and lots of love, Grandma O
PS. I just know, that you were so grateful to Grandpa R for putting together this table for you. He is so helpful and loving to you !!!
love Grandma O

Dear Sir Liam the Cutest,

What a beautiful piece of art that you have created! It does take talent to have that perfect blend of colors and effects - it is bright, bold, yet so cheerful! Remember that life is a reflection of how you see it - happy, cheerful, or sad and melancholy.

May you continue to have many and many happiest and brightest moments and may you have success in whatever you like to pursue in your life.

Lots of love to you,
Grandma R
