O'Briens

O'Briens
A twelve year journey including a very long ortho surgery residency, first year as staff, a move to Fort Irwin AKA The Moon, a move back to DC, and now finally settling for a while in the Augusta, Georgia area-this blog tells a story of a boy and a girl leaving NYC, both switching careers, joining the Army, starting our family, loving, losing, living... Buckle up, this life of ours is bumpy, but full of love and lots of adventure.

Abrakadoodle Fun

Liam has been dabbling in some art, so we have been taking art classes on Friday mornings. Mostly we are trying to support our community by taking these classes so they will bring more classes our way, but we are having fun making lots and lots of "paintings." Liam really enjoys finger painting (whether we are to use a brush or not!) for say about two seconds, then he holds up his hands and says, "dirty," then jumps off my lap and runs around. Then Mommy runs after him with an entire package of wipes attempting some sort of damage control. Oh well, art is not his forte, but at least we are exposing him to lots of different experiences, right? And also getting him used to sitting for a few moments in circle time--emphasis on a few seconds. Gymboree and singing is much more his speed. :)

Sir Liam the Artist !!! :-)))
Well, Sir Liam, it appears that you are really getting into paint, and I do mean getting into. But Mom is much too fast for you...out came the wipes and you were clean again :-))) I know you are having fun with Mom when she takes you to different activities.
Lots of love Grandma O

Dear Sir Liam the Cutest,

So you are the cutest artist! I still have your last "painting" and will treasure it for many years to come.

Your Mom is certainly a very good and nurtured mother in your learning experiences. You will find something that you like and do best along the way. So, keep having fun learning.

Love you tons,

Grandma R
