Happy Birthday to Liam, Fred, Uncle John and Grandpa R--our August men!
Alaska was a wonderful way to celebrate everyone, especially Dad R's 74th birthday. What an honor to be with Dad and see the land he loves and my birthplace--truly amazingly, gorgeous. I now understand the verse "purple mountain majesties..." from American the Beautiful.
We are so lucky to have all of you in our lives and thankful for the opportunity to travel together to see all the amazing sights, while not one of us killing one another. Sorry, couldn't resist a Kenny. :)
Happy Birthday to all!

Dear Sir Liam, and Lady Isabelle,
A very Happy Birthday to all the August birthdays! Your Dad (Fred),your Uncle John (ChaChi), your Grandpa R, and you dear Liam. We had such fun together on the Norwegian Pearl, the Alaskan excursions...especially the helicopter ride to the Taku Glacier, and the train ride up the White Pass and a little into Yukon Territory. It was a grand adventure for all of us who had never been to Alaska, and brought back wonderful memories for those who had spent time in Alaska. You know, your Mom (Liz,) is the only person I have ever known who was born in Alaska. Grandpa O and I were thrilled to be part of this group and had the best vacation and brought home many wonderful memories to treasure.
much love to all the O'Bs in Washington DC :-)))

Dear Liam and Isabelle,
We were so happy to be part of the whole RHY-HIL-O'B Family's outing to Alaska and proud to wear the blue family shirts on the Norwegian Pearl cruising the Inland Passage to celebrate your birthday as well as the birthdays of your Dad, Uncle Cha Chi and Grandpa R. There we had so much fun on the helicopter ride to have an up-close sight of the glacier. At Skagway, we also rode on the train up to the White Pass/Yukon Territory to view many splendid waterfalls, glaciers, gorges, tunnels, and trestles. Grandpa R, Uncle Cha Chi, Aunt C, and Mailee went dogsleding and saw a black bear, otter, and an eagle catching a salmon. Mailee had fun petting the baby sled dog. On the way to Ketchikan, we enjoyed the beautiful Glacier Bay view from our cabin balconies. Your Dad, Uncle Cha Chi, and grandpas R and O had a wonderful day fishing for salmon in Ketchikan while you, Isabelle, Mailee, your Mom, Aunt C, and grandmas R and O were entertained with the Lumber Jack show. We finally had a short walk at beautiful Buchart Gardens in Victoria, Canada where we enjoyed the fireworks to end our trip.
It was indeed the most memorable trip. We certainly look forward to future trips with the RHY-HIL-O'B family again.
Lots of love,
Chief RHY-HIL-O'B and Grandma R
