O'Briens

O'Briens
A twelve year journey including a very long ortho surgery residency, first year as staff, a move to Fort Irwin AKA The Moon, a move back to DC, and now finally settling for a while in the Augusta, Georgia area-this blog tells a story of a boy and a girl leaving NYC, both switching careers, joining the Army, starting our family, loving, losing, living... Buckle up, this life of ours is bumpy, but full of love and lots of adventure.

Liam, and Isabelle,
What a wonderful Christmas 2011 we had with the Grandparents R, Mom and Dad and especiallly both of you. Wasn't it fun to play the piano from Aunt Caroline, and Uncle John? You really enjoyed using the microphone too :-). Liam, you build so many great structures with the connect building pieces, and I think you really loved playing with Dad, and the Grandpas ! We sure love being with you and celebrating.
We will see you soon. Happy New Year to both of you (Mom and Dad too !))love Grandma O

It was very nice to be able to have a wonderful Christmas with Liam, Isabelle, Fred, Liz, Ellen and Fred II as well. We were so thankful for that special event since I was afraid that Grandpa R might not be back from the hospital in time for the celebration of the birth of our Savior - Jesus Christ.

Anyway, Grandpa R is doing much better and with the help and blessing of the Lord, he will be with us for many, many Christmas seasons that will come our way.

Also, Grandpa R felt that we should celebrate our usual New Year Eve -so we did a nice dinner with a few friends to ring in the new year.

Hope everything will be great for our family this year.

Love,
Grandma R
