It was a whirlwind of travel from Hawaii, to Pittsburgh, then to the Poconos, and back to DC to spend New Years. It was fun, and Liam did a phenomenal job, with a few terrible two shenanigans here and there, but hey, he's two and there was a lot of planes, trains (if you count the train museum in Scranton), car seats and automobiles, plus he is half-Irish, so a little rowdy is to be expected, no???? Anyhow, we spent Christmas with the O'Brien clan with Mom and Dad R in tow, then we were off to the Poconos to visit with Elanna, Andreas and Julie, where there was a lot of cold and a little snow. Fred even got to take some snowboarding lessons-from surfing to snowboarding-crazy! It was wonderful spending times with those we love and starting the New Year with our good friends the Maloneys back in DC/VA. Here are some photos highlighting the festive season. Trying to get a group shot with a two-year old is hilar (as Caroline dubs it) and you will see how challenging it can be!

Happy New Year Sir Liam,
What a wonderful December 2009 you, Mom and Dad had! We were especially thrilled that you, Mom,Dad and the Grands R came to Pittsburgh for Christmas. It is always fun to have you here, to play with you and feed you some goodies.
The trip to the Poconos looked like a lot of fun, particularly the train museum.
I'll see you soon...next week, I can't wait :-))
lots of love from Grandma and Grandpa O
Dear Sir Liam the Cutest,
We had so much fun with you at Granparents O's lovely home along with your parents. It was very nice of Grandparents O to have all of us in Pittsburgh to celebrate Christmas. You surely did travel a lot - Hawaii, DC, Pittsburgh, Poconos and VA. I know you had some fun but were tired and ready to be back home in your own bed.
Hope you have a nice rest before helping us celebrate the New Year of the Tiger.
Love you tons,
Grandma R
