O'Briens

O'Briens
A twelve year journey including a very long ortho surgery residency, first year as staff, a move to Fort Irwin AKA The Moon, a move back to DC, and now finally settling for a while in the Augusta, Georgia area-this blog tells a story of a boy and a girl leaving NYC, both switching careers, joining the Army, starting our family, loving, losing, living... Buckle up, this life of ours is bumpy, but full of love and lots of adventure.

Liam's new toy

Liam got a new Jumperoo and he loves it! We got to test drive it first at Kevin and Kimmie's house this past weekend when we visited them and Liam met Matthew for the first time. Anyhow, it was a huge hit there so we had to get him one for our house before he got too big and outgrew it. I wish they made a Jumperoo for adults! Liam laughs and smiles when Fred picks him up over his head and is afraid Liam is an adrenaline junkie.

Liam seems to get bigger daily. We are almost at 6 months and are anxious to see how much he weighs and how tall he is when we go to his check up appointment. By our guesstimates here, we think he is a little shy of 20 pounds and probably 27 inches or more!!! We guess Grandma O. was right about O'Brien babies growing fast in their first year. We'll wait for Dr. Darling to confirm in a week. Anyhow, Grandma & Grandpa R. already gave Liam his next car seat since he will probably outgrow the infant seat in a heartbeat! And the Bugaboo that Grandma & Grandpa O. had given him has been converted to the upright stroller with the pram wrapped up and put away for the next Baby O--who is still just a twinkle in our eyes. :) But we would be more than happy to share the stroller with Caroline and John or Delphine or Mark--no pressure!

Dear Sir Liam the Cute,

I am so glad to see you really enjoy the new Jumperoo. It's so much fun jumping, right? I know you will soon crawl and walk everywhere. Don't forget to take your first little walk with Grandpa R to get an ice cream treat.

Love you lots,

Grandma R
