O'Briens

O'Briens
A twelve year journey including a very long ortho surgery residency, first year as staff, a move to Fort Irwin AKA The Moon, a move back to DC, and now finally settling for a while in the Augusta, Georgia area-this blog tells a story of a boy and a girl leaving NYC, both switching careers, joining the Army, starting our family, loving, losing, living... Buckle up, this life of ours is bumpy, but full of love and lots of adventure.

Happy Halloween!

This is the very first year that Liam WANTED to wear a costume for Halloween and he was very opinionated on what costume he should wear---Lightning McQueen, of course! And he wanted us all to dress up in the race car theme. So Fred was a big Lightning McQueen, I was a pit crew chick and Izzy...well, she was our checkered flag! We did our annual birthday party for Skylar with the Giulianis and got to catch up with good friends and Fred got to talk shop with his friends too. That group has no down time at all to actually hang out, so we look forward to it every year.

At Parade

Made it home!

Daddy getting ready to take them Trick-or-Treating
On Halloween, Dad helped me attend the Shepherd Park parade for the first time and after all the sugar Liam had in school, he was rearing to go--Lightning fast, even. Izzy took a break from the racing theme and wore the chicken costume from Genevieve. It was a hit and she was adorable, if I do say so myself. Liam was handsome as ever and super fast in his costume. What a great Halloween!
